PTE Academic speaking Top mistakes : In the last few months, we have evaluated near about a 1000 mock tests as well spoken to many aspirants who took the tests in an attempt to practice for PTE Academic.
It is intriguing to see how many of them struggled with the same issues and made the same common mistakes.

Speaking too fast in PTE Academic Speaking Section
We often notice and hear from aspirant that they believe that a brisk talking speed is the same thing as speaking fluency.
In an attempt to showcase that they have a good speaking rate, aspirants often confuse themselves and end up speaking too fast.
The main reason can be that the students or aspirants are often nervous hence speeding up naturally. It’s natural to feel stressed or to feel nervous.
However, there is a need to exercise our flow of speech and need to be aware of it before you appear for any test.
No matter how much anxious or how much confident you are, try to speak slow and don’t rush as it can yield the best results you can imagine.
Excessive use of fillers
Native or non-native speakers, we have seen this common mistake in all them. The words like “aaa” or “um” which aspirants often use probably while thinking of a word or while imaging the next sentences is what we call fillers.
PTE Academic is really serious about the use of fillers and punishes heavily if used. It is that often advised to prevent the use of fillers as they take a large chunk of your score card.
It is also important to note that the time given before the recording gets started is given mainly so that you can think of the concepts on which you can speak upon in the next few seconds.
Use that time wisely and choose a concept on which you will be speaking so as to prevent the situation where you will have to use fillers.

Speaking in parts or fragments
It is a very common thing that we see among most of the aspirants they often seem to be starting a sentence and in the mid, they add on another random thought and go ahead with that.
The result a number of sentences left incomplete. Now while conversing on any normal day this might be a normal thing but in PTE Academic it is a disaster which should be prevented.
The PTE Academic requires you to speak in complete sentences, no matter what. You have maximum chances of clearing out if you make sure that you speak complete sentences.
Even if you realize that you have made some mistake while speaking a sentence don’t go backward correcting it, instead finish the sentence and move ahead.
